Tonight has dark
hollow eyes
staring through my
skin
I wish I could be
out here until
daylight washes
away the bad dreams
and blood on our boots
I am merely
counting sheep
until frozen sunshine sweeps
north from the
city
You have to
count on something
There has to
be loyalty buried
somewhere
under these
salt covered
streets
Loneliness is
the grasp of insanities
indulgence in
the blaring of
ambulance
sirens
and burnt
out
street lights
I wish this
cup of
coffee
could last
my whole life
It helps me to forget
how much I still
love you

This strikes somewhere deep.
Your poems are so powerful, it winces the very soul.
I love the imagery that you create, the metaphorical use of language, and overall rhetorical style.
Excited to be a part of "any one thing". That reminds me, interesting name. Can you throw some light on it?
Be Well brother, try to think less.
Thank you Walking man....dearly. Nice to hear from you.
Tulika~~~ I am humbled by your thoughts and I find you very inspiring. That means a lot and I am so grateful for your input.
Lately I haven't been throwing much "light" anywhere...
Though I would like to respond to your question by saying that I have always been obsessed with the idea of writing anything that one desires. Since I first learned one could write thoughts down I started being fascinated by the notion that people have solid and real freedom to do any thing they want without having to pay regard to structure or rules.....
You are allowed to be yourself and what one person thinks something may mean......that interpretation could be something very different to the next person. Hence....Any One Thing. I hope that made some sort of sense.
Thank you so much for coming here and not only reading....but caring too. I appreciate it.
Heyy..!! Now that I know what “Any One Thing” means I’m so pleasantly surprised. As the notion that my perspective provides me the characterization and not the author has always excited me. A text has more than one interpretation, an ardent believer of the idea and somewhat read it as DECONSTRUCTION theory (under my dad’s guidance, of course), a literary theory by French philosopher Jacqes Derrida.
And, I inspire you..? That’s a big compliment. Thanks for being so kind.
And yes.. I ll be glad to put in my inputs from time to time so much so that u ll be irritated. :D
Trust me, I loved reading the verses. Happy blogging !!
